Job Location: Newton, MA

This position is open to being a full remote role

PRIMARY PURPOSE

  • Develop and maintain business and system requirements for internal users as well as external clients. Gather and document requirements through a variety of means and serve as a primary communication bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. The BA must be able to perform job functions in an independent manner to provide leadership and drive collaboration across disciplines in all solution development related activities. This role is critical in the process of delivering integrated business solutions to meet stakeholder needs.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES


Business Requirements Management and Solution Development

  • Collaborate and build consensus between technical team and stakeholders working to balance scope and expectations for the request.
  • Partner technical team through design, code, test and deploy to ensure any issues are resolved. BA owns production deployment (unique to this role).
  • Ensure that all processes and documentation are consistent with best practices and provide recommendations for future enhancement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to fully understand, define and document business requirements for software and/or process changes.
  • Actively listen to internal and external stakeholders to avoid assumptions and increase the alignment of project success with the business needs.
  • Act as BA, Development, and QA to support application enhancements, fixes, and day-to-day support tasks.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that requirements are properly translated into technical specifications, clarify requirements, review recommendations and answer questions.


Support Activities

  • Act independently to support clients without established processes.
  • Proactively suggest ways that the support offering can be continuously improved to provide better customer service and to provide the service more efficiently and effectively.


Communication

  • Ensure that feedback from key stakeholders is fully acknowledged and incorporated into requirements, process flow diagrams and use cases.
  • Ensure that all materials created for communicating and facilitating discussion of intended approach are carefully tailored to the intended audience.
  • Work closely with Project managers to ensure all Project documentation including reviews and signoffs are properly executed and stored in proper locations.
  • Consistently acknowledge and appreciate each team member’s contributions.

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY

  • The individual will possess the ability to exercise sound judgment to meet deadlines and prioritize projects and tasks.
  • The individual is able to work with minimum supervision, but, when necessary, consult with Team Lead or manager for clarity.

RECOMMENDED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field or comparable experience required.
  • 1-3 years related work experience required.
  • Experience with T-SQL or willingness to learn in a very short timeframe.
  • Ability to learn new systems and required technical skills quickly.
  • Strong communication skills are essential. Individual must be comfortable working with a variety of user groups at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking to analyze problems, document needs and communicate these needs to a variety of audiences. Experience with T-SQL and database structures is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage many competing demands and thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a virtual team.
  • The individual must have a strong customer service philosophy and skills; thrive in a team environment as well as in an individual setting.

The compensation starts at $75,000, with flexibility depending on experience
