The Information Technology (IT) division is interested in providing opportunities for top notch technology students who are passionate about IT and interested in staying in area for the summer, and possibly beyond, to further their practical work experience and skills, while bringing a fresh perspective and new ideas to our organization. You will learn skills that you can apply to your school work and future career opportunities. Summary Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. In addition, through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key concepts within the divisional tracks of Information Technology, Actuary, Analytics & Data, Clinical Studies, web-based Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other technical based degree programs. The IT Infrastructure intern will work along with a Network Engineer as their mentor on Network segmentation, Network monitoring, firewall log analysis, firewall rule creation, and other active Network projects. – This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).- May reside in either a technical or non-technical area- Development events are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.- Housing is not provided as part of our program. Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities: – Duties will vary with assignment, specific divisional callouts are listed below- Functions performed are technical in nature and will cover a broad range of business-related projects- Creates and delivers presentation at completion of internship- Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies’ mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.- Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.- Performs other functions as assigned by management. Analytics & Data Specific: Works with a mentor from a specific Analytics & Data discipline which ranges from Data Management & Integration (Data Warehousing & Big Data), Analytics & Reporting (Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Science), and Data Governance (Data Profiling).Depending on the discipline the intern may assist with the following:- Assists with Big Data on network performance, using tools to manipulate diverse real-world data and develop complex data visualizations; use data-driven metrics to create visibility into network performance, to mine data, and solve problems.- Assists with predictive modelling, forecasting, and Data Science related tasks.- Conduct data profiling analyses to ensure data quality.- Develop reporting, analysis, and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, Cognos, SAS, R, Python, or possibly other analytical tools as necessary. Minimum Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will have experience with configuring network equipment (Cisco or similar) or firewalls (any vendor). Desired majors include: Network/System Administration, Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems General Technical: – Desired majors include Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics- Must be in good academic standing.- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with staff at all levels of the company.- Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.- Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing their assigned tasks.- Commitment to continuous improvement of their own skill and team functioning.- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams where needed.
