Job Location: Wilmington, DE

The Director of Data & Analytics for Payments is a critical leadership position, responsible for supporting Payment’s strategic priorities and translating them into an analytic and data vision. This position is charged with delivering innovative and industry-leading analytics, powered by machine learning and AI, while providing thought leadership on data strategy and products to achieve growth, engagement and improved customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

Business Outcomes:

  • Organizes their team to ensure each functional leader and Product Owner has appropriate level of dedicated support for their priorities
  • Actively identifies ways to support these priorities through Data & Analytics, including:
    • Appling machine learning, AI and other advanced techniques to grow our businesses, solve business problems, drive strategy and improve the experience of our customers.
    • Continuously transitioning repeatable analyses into automated reporting and improving data visualizations
    • Conducting deep-dive analyses where appropriate
    • Partnering with the Modeling COE to build predictive models (e.g., Marketing and Sales leads, price elasticity, capacity planning)
    • Partnering with various analytics teams to tell a holistic story and execute CCB wide strategies
  • Provides analytic support and leadership to business and functional product teams
    • Creating measurement and A/B testing plans with Product Owners
    • Ensure our Payments experiences are instrumented to capture signals needed to understand customer behavior
    • Understand the value and application of stitching behavioral, transactional and voice of customer data to improve the customer experience in the Digital channel
  • Be a thought leader in how we can continuously improve self-service capabilities for Product Owners, Design, and Technology by leveraging industry leading analytical tools
  • Actively identify opportunities to improve funnel conversions and identify areas of friction in the customer experience
  • Works with the Payments stakeholders to prioritize analytic road maps and priorities, and flexes junior employees across stakeholder teams when there are capacity constraints
  • Identifies opportunity for synergies between stakeholders, peers and share insights

  • Owns and manages all Risks & compensating Controls related to:
    • Data Quality for data originated in their business
    • All Data transformations performed by their team
    • Data Quality for all data/insights provided by their team
    • Data Use and the protection of data used by their team
    • Actively supports CCB-wide initiatives to reduce Data & Analytics risk (e.g., model governance, SAS uplift)

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience as a Data/Analytics Executive or in a related field
  • Experience in financial services, retail, digital or consulting
  • Process- and controls-oriented leader, maintains a strong system of internal governance and controls
  • Superb leadership skills at managing large teams; outstanding and engaging people leader who has demonstrated the ability to lead, coach and develop employees within a large organization
  • Proven ability to drive revenue and business outcomes
  • Excellent ability to influence and partner across a large organization and drive change
  • Strong presence and speaking skills, with the ability to influence and motivate senior executives
  • Comfortable presenting recommendations to senior management and capable of influencing multiple stakeholders
  • Strong business control understanding and experience
  • Experience with a Fortune 500 company and highly recognized customer centric brand strongly preferred
  • Strong grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, marketplace, and regulatory environment
