National Grid is hiring a Lead Analyst position in Distribution Planning & Asset Management to be located in Waltham, MA. This role can also be based in Worcester or Northborough, MA.

Job Purpose

Data Analysis is more important in today’s world than ever before. In this integral role you will provide analytical and administrative support to ensure effective delivery of Distribution Planning and Asset Management objectives.


Key Accountabilities

  • Assemble and develop data to inform processes and policy objectives to support senior management decision-making
  • Independently collate and analyze data using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department’s decision-making process
  • Manage bidding and awarding and payment of DG/DPAM studies
  • Manage PS&I Work order controls and close out process
  • Develop and manage department SharePoint sites
  • Provide functional audit support for reporting on department metrics
  • Analysis/reporting of DG System Impact Study delivery metrics for New England, including creation and maintenance of metric reporting spreadsheets/databases
  • Support for analysis and tracking of department goals related to key performance indicators
  • Support financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share best practice and ensure efficient information sharing
  • Keep up to date with market/regulatory developments within own discipline in order to ensure the optimization of best practices
  • Challenge existing ways of working and seek ways to do things better to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area


Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Strong interpersonal skills including negotiations and communications.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and lead a group even where the role holder has no direct authority.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with minimum 8+ years’ relevant and progressive experience
  • Technical and functional proficiency in PowerPlan, SAP & STORMS preferred
  • Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities
  • Background in utility service business activities and projects is a plus
  • Experience reviewing and resolving data discrepancies
  • Proficiency with data analytics using Microsoft Excel, SAP and Power BI
  • Experience with Microsoft Access is a plus
  • Electrical engineering background in utility industry is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Salary

$105,000 – $123,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
