Job Description
Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Business Systems Analyst serves as administrator of the company’s global Oracle Hyperion EPM platform. Included with this will be responsibility for maintaining integrations with ERP and reporting systems utilizing FDMEE and other data transfer solutions. The position involves working closely with accounting and corporate finance teams as well as other members within Business Systems to ensure smooth daily operations of the system, maintaining completeness of metadata, and timely & accurate consolidation and data sync processes in support of monthly close needs. Other important duties will include providing regular training to end users and some involvement in supporting operations of other financial systems, such as the company’s ERP or Treasury systems, as time allows.
Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) release 11.1.2.4 for consolidation and reporting needs.
  • Basic understanding of technical aspects of HFM / FDMEE including scripts, data load rules, task schedulers, maintenance of web forms, modifications to underlying consolidation rules, etc.
  • Maintain active HFM integrations with the company’s ERP system (MS Dynamics 365) for base data import, and Workiva for periodic financial reporting data export, as well as recurring data exports to other systems such as Power BI and ad hoc import/export requirements as requested by business owners. Utilize FDMEE, extended analytics or task flows to support integrations.
  • Set up new inbound and outbound integrations utilizing FDMEE or other means as needed.
  • Maintain metadata structure and configurations including set up of new entities, accounts, dimensions, financial statement rollups, and entity ownership forms. Manage metadata with appropriate segregations between development and production environments utilizing Lifecycle Management (LCM) procedures.
  • Maintain and continue build out of existing financial report inventory in Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio (FR Studio) and SmartView. Understand the needs of end-users and design and build new reports to fulfil internal and external financial and managerial reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with other members of the Business Systems team to ensure shared responsibilities and tasks that impact integrity of HFM data are organized and carried out in a timely manner.
  • Partner with Accounting, Tax, FP&A and other Finance teams on regular financial close processes to deliver consolidated reporting results covering both internal management and external needs. Occasionally assist teams with complex elimination or translation issues.
  • Complete timely and accurate data syncs between unique HFM applications and scenarios as utilized by specific teams, as well as appropriate lock of system periods in order to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Provision global user access to the system and assist management in periodic user access reviews to ensure appropriate segregation of duties and access permissions.
  • Partner with the business on M&A transactions and other growth-related business needs to ensure efficient and accurate integrations and system solutions as necessary to support flow of information including financial reporting.
  • Design and recommend system solutions for various complex problems/issues that are brought forth by end users.
  • Support in system roadmap planning to migrate from Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) to Oracle Cloud EPM or other SaaS solution. Support subsequent system implementation as needed.
  • Assist with process automation projects ensuring stakeholder buy-in and under guidance of system development lifecycle internal controls and protocols. Engage and liaise with external consultants as necessary.
  • Research and understand the full capabilities of HFM / FDMEE and proactively seek out opportunities to enhance the benefit of these systems to the Company.
  • Closely follow internal control procedures referencing the company’s documented process narratives, including recurring controls related to ensuring system data integration integrity. Assist with interim and annual audit support requests for key financial data elements from Hyperion and other financial systems.
  • Assist with systems upgrades and application implementations by following established systems development life cycle methodology.
  • Implement training programs and wiki articles for Hyperion and SmartView for global users and provide ad-hoc troubleshooting, general guidance and data mining support for all system functions including SmartView.
  • As time permits involvement in supporting operations of other financial systems including the company’s ERP system (MS Dynamics 365) and accounting close management tool (Blackline), treasury management system (Reval), or test automation software system (Leapwork).

Qualifications
Experience/Qualifications/Education Required
Educational And Work Experience

  • BS degree in related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience working closely in or preferably managing EPM tools; experience with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management is highly preferred.
  • Hands on experience in creating financial and managerial reports using Oracle Financial Reporting Studio (FR Studio) is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and FP&A functions is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365 is desirable.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Reval or Blackline is desirable, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and deliver on specific directives.
  • Multi-cultural and multi-regional experience is highly preferred.
  • Renewable energy industry experience is desirable, but not required.
