Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing a framework for sourcing, processing and analyzing valuable data sources for improving credit risk strategies
- Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Developing credit scorecards, testing & monitoring frameworks
- Build predictive models and algorithms
- Combine models through ensemble modelling
- Actively seek out opportunities to innovate by using non-traditional data and new modeling techniques
- Ensuring all project documentation is up to date and maintain the highest levels of quality in deliverables
- Work as independent contributor mostly and as a mentor to other team members by providing guidance when required
- Enhancing existing analytic techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in analytics field
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenge
Desired Candidate Profile
Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Credit Risk Data Analyst
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or other relevant field; graduate degree in a quantitative field is preferred
Hands on experience with SQL and one or more data analytics/programming tools such as R/Python/Java
Proficiency in some of the following statistical techniques: Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis, etc
Experience in consumer lending industry preferred
Experience in risk analytics (model development, scorecard development, documentation, validation, implementation and automation etc.)
Analytical mind, business acumen, math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra) and problem-solving aptitude
Results oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Understanding of credit bureaus and non-traditional data providers will be a plus
Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Zoomdata, QlikView, Tableau etc.) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop) is a plus
Experience in the following areas will be considered an advantage: o Docker, CI/CD, git, Google Cloud Services, Pub/Sub, REST AP
