JOB TITLE: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer II –
- Location: IAD175 – DC Sterling VA
The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer Facility will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within an Amazon Data Center including risk management and mitigation corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure vendor management and metric reporting.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment
Preferred (nice to have)
Skills/Experience:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- 2-4 years of Data Center Engineering Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
- Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling
Required Degrees/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree or equivalent relevant

Typical Tasks:

- shift turnover – what work is planned for the day / prepare for that
- vendor check-in and management – including conducting safety briefs
- system monitoring response to alarms
- performance of a preventative / corrective maintenance
- building rounds to monitor equipment / operate equipment
