In this role you will represent the voice of the business by performing research, design, and development; translating complex business requirements into actionable features, user stories and changes/updates to the Government Operations application suite. This is a cross-functional liaison role that reviews requirements and performance against expectations and coordinates/facilitates or influences changes to product to achieve optimal performance. You will work with internal and external business partners to recommend future direction, respond to inquiries, and ensure alignment to business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a Claims domain specialist who owns and drives the vision for the product life cycle
  • Supports end-to-end coordination for product-related activities
  • Serves as the primary liaison between business and technical team, responsible for gathering, documenting and prioritizing business requirements in support of critical business needs
  • Serves as the SME for User Acceptance Testing activities, including providing support for hands-on testing and troubleshooting when necessary
  • Drives findings through to satisfactory resolution
  • Participates in solution analysis and design meetings for system enhancements and/or implementations
  • Participates in discussions to document Current State/Future State workflows as needed
  • Provides clear description of problems/issues for medium to high complexity problems
  • Presents options for problem resolution
  • Models collaborative leadership behavior with the team
  • Works well in a matrix environment across cross – functional teams
  • Capture, analyze, organize, and prioritize business requirements ranging from moderate to complex projects
  • Documents and translates business requirements into features and develops user stories
  • Maximizing the value of the capabilities and products
  • Collaborates with System Analysts and architecture to identify solutions to meet business requirements
  • Provide explanations and information to Agile teams, stakeholders, managers
  • Prepares and presents information to leadership for next steps and decision making
  • Actively participate in Agile team processes and help implement process changes related to Agile
  • Represents business interests and requirements on the Agile teams
  • Lead, Build and maintain a backlog/inventory of system and business requirements to quickly react to additional enhancement capacity
  • Provides direction to business analysts and IT resources within the Agile team to ensure highest value is delivered
  • Represents Our United Culture missions and values in all activities, demonstrating exemplary customer service with internal and external team members

While you’re busy helping us change the landscape of health care, you’ve got to be able to quickly adapt to change in a fluid environment. It’s all about quality reporting, analysis and audits and developing plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement. You’ll also be challenged to gain buy-in from multiple stakeholders before presenting solutions to senior leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as Business Analyst or Product Owner
  • 3+ years of healthcare claims experience
  • Experience with implementing software or from ideation / requirements through to successful delivery
  • Experience working with all phases of Agile and Product Ownership
  • Knowledge of FACETS applications (usage of claims processing system)
  • Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Lean process improvement or six sigma qualifications / experience
  • Experience of managing business partners in a matrix organization
  • Experience working directly with senior level business stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Visio
  • SQL programming
  • Medicaid and DSNP Claims knowledge
  • Solid working knowledge of how to execute on project deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop solid networks and ensure collaboration and consensus building
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and evaluating requirements and writing and translating business requirements

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
