THE PURPOSE OF THE BUSINESS ANALYST WILL BE:

To gather information through Customer/User/SSP employee interface and translate the requirements into straightforward functional specifications. The Business Analyst will provide fee-earning consultancy and service relating to SSP software and services.

WE’D LIKE TO MEET A BUSINESS ANALYST WITH:

  • Minimum 4yrs of work experience as Business Analyst.
  • Knowledge of the General Insurance industry and its processes and procedures gained through direct experience
  • Practical working knowledge of at least one computer-based Insurance application
  • Should have practical experience in SCHEMA, XML, DEV- BA, XSD, mapping tool
  • Demonstrable aptitude for analyzing application problems, ideally using a formal analysis methodology, and the building of solutions. (Some knowledge of analyzing relational data would be beneficial)
  • Experience in working to strict deadlines, both individually and as part of a team

THE BUSINESS ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • To gather information and translate the requirements into straightforward business and project documents.
  • To translate the requirements into a functional specification.
  • To prepare mapping documents.
  • To support the customer during the implementation of a largely standard packaged application.
  • To understand and apply an application development methodology where appropriate and contribute to the production of the deliverables required at each stage of the project life cycle (e.g. Customer Proposals, GAP analysis, Requirements Definition, and internal and external functional design.)
  • Capture and apply system and product configuration.
  • To participate in the client implementation and installation processes.
  • To develop system test scenarios and participate in internal quality reviews.
  • To prepare system documentation and liaise with Development teams.
  • To present formally and informally, progress data and other information to nominated parties including Clients and senior SSP management.
  • Take ownership for learning.
